10 Stunning Summer Dance Shots

Our words to live by? Dance where and when the spirit takes you. If you’re a professional ballet dancer on summer break, it’s only natural to seize a searing sunset or a pristine patch of sand to snap a spontaneous pose.

Our dancers do break for the summer, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve hung up their ballet shoes. After dancing forty hours a week for 38 weeks straight, summer break gives dancers time to rest and re-energize and often jet set to locales near and far, visiting family and fellow dancers. For others, summer offers the perfect opening to guest perform, teach and pursue an artistic side project.

Wherever the summer takes them, the occasional ballet pose inevitably sneaks in at unexpected moments – an impulse that’s just second nature.

Culled from the cameras of PBT company members, here are 10 stunning photos that capture the summer of 2016.
