Community Youth Scholarship Audition FAQs

The audition will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at PBT Studios, 2900 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, 15201.

What will the audition be like?
The audition will be a basic dance class taught by PBT School faculty members of the Children’s and Student Divisions. Students do not need to prepare dances for the audition.

What should my child wear to the audition?
Fitted clothing, such as a leotard and tights, or shorts / opaque leggings and a t-shirt. Socks or dance slippers are recommended (no shoes or bare feet). Hair should be pulled up and away from the face.

Will caregivers watch the audition?
Caregivers will not be able to watch the audition – we have found that students are more distracted with family and friends present.

How many students will receive a scholarship?
We will award five full scholarships for the 2023/24 school year.

When will we learn the results of the audition?
Families will be notified three weeks after the audition. We will contact you whether or not your child receives a scholarship.

Is parking available?
PBT has a parking lot adjacent to the building as well as a lot across Liberty Ave. from our building. If you park across the street please cross at 29th St. for your safety.
