CHILDREN’S DIVISION | SUMMER
Ages 1.5-7
Our Children’s Division is for dancers starting out in their ballet journey. Students in this division are placed in levels primarily based on their age, from Family and Me classes for our youngest dancers through Pre-Ballet 6/7.
Any dancer may sign up for an age-eligible Children’s Division class, regardless of ballet experience.
Please note that the number in the title of Children’s Division classes refers to the age in years of the dancers in that class as determined by our age policy. For example, Pre-Ballet 5 students are 5 years old. Age is based on their age as of September 2023.
Saturday Classes
The Saturday classes are designed to either continue your dancer’s training from the previous school year or they are there for the dancer that wants to try something new. The Pre-Ballet classes are based on the ages from the preceding school year. Our classes always focus on movement, creativity, musicality, discipline and basic ballet technique. Students can register for one or both summer sessions.

About Family and Me: This class is a great first ballet experience for your little dancer. This class is a unique experience for families to enjoy together. It creates beautiful bonding moments for grown-ups and children alike.
About Pre-Ballet 2: This class is great for the energetic, enthusiastic, and creative child. It is only a half hour and the class is always moving to accommodate a typical quick thinking two year old. Faculty is equipped to handle the transition for children moving to an independent activity for the first time.
Sunday Workshop Series
A Children’s Division Sunday workshop consists of a shortened ballet class that is always geared to include a variety of ages. Storytime is incorporated because there is usually a book that relates to the theme of the workshop. A craft or a coloring page give the students a moment to elaborate on the theme. The workshop culminates with the families coming in for the last few minutes to view the dance that students learned that day. The goal is for your young dancer to experience the joy of dancing along with the additional fun activities to enhance the learning encounter.
