Classical Romance – Seton Hill University

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre at Seton Hill University –
7 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019

Two eras of ballet brilliance collide in Classical Romance with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Experience the artistry of Pittsburgh’s premier professional ballet company in excerpts from two of the most timeless works in the repertoire – The Sleeping Beauty and Giselle.

No ballet exemplifies the crystalline choreography and technical mastery of the classical era better than The Sleeping Beauty. See highlights of Princess Aurora, her prince and their fairy-tale friends, including the beautiful Bluebird Pas de Deux and the grand pas de deux between Aurora and her prince, all set to a magnificent Tchaikovsky score.

Then, lose yourself in the mist and supernatural beauty of Giselle. PBT brings to life the story of a village girl doomed by a lover’s deceit to a ghostly sisterhood of spurned maidens intent on revenge in Act II one of the most breathtaking ballets of the Romantic period.
