Student Division Costume Fundraiser
In anticipation of our Spring Show, PBT’s costume shop is building new costumes for every Student Division dancer involved in the performance, replacing existing ones made in 2007. These costumes will be worn for each level’s Classical Performance, as well as the “Grand Défilé” which features all levels together.
Quick Facts:
- 140 jewel-toned leotards, skirts, vests and cummerbunds (20-30 per level)
- Over 120 yards of stretch velvet
- Jewel-toned color palette of purple, wine, emerald, navy, amber and charcoal
- Sizes for ages 8-14
Access to professional stitchers is one of many distinctions that sets Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School apart from local dance studios. But it comes with a cost – over 200 hours of stitching, in addition to time spent shopping, patterning and sizing – and nearly $5,000 in fabric expenses and labor.
The Pre-Professional costume inventory is also getting a well-deserved refresh this spring. Sleeping Beauty fairies are being cleaned and repaired, with extra trimmings to wow our audience. Stitchers are also repairing tutus and building new corps costumes for Paquita.
Add your family to our list of supporters for this new project! Consider funding one leotard ($33), a pas de trois ($99) or perhaps a class set ($660) as a way to cheer on young artists.
