CHILDREN’S DIVISION

Ages 1.5+

Register

Introduce your child to the joy, expression and discipline of ballet! Our Children’s Division is for dancers starting out their ballet journey, between the ages of 2 and 7 years old. As they learn about the foundations of dance, students exercise both their bodies and imaginations under the guidance of instructors who specialize in early childhood education.

We place students in this division based on their age, from Family and Me classes for our youngest dancers through Pre-Ballet 6.

“My favorite thing about my job is the opportunity to facilitate a child’s love for ballet. My young daughters are my inspiration for bringing creativity and fun into the studio, where I work to create magical experiences that turn ballet into a passion. I consider myself lucky to be able to watch my students grow and enjoy dancing.”- Kaila Lewis, Head of the Children’s Division

Curriculum Overview

Programming in this division is led by faculty certified in American Ballet Theatre’s Level Primary-Level 5, focusing on the development and training of young students while embracing sound ballet principles and incorporating elements of different schools of training.

Students may enroll in weekly classes during our school year or take part in our Sunday Workshop Series. All classes and workshops include live piano accompaniment.

Financial aid and scholarships are not available in the Children’s Division, but families are encouraged to apply for PBT’s Community Youth Scholarship Program.
