CHILDREN’S DIVISION
Ages 1.5+
Introduce your child to the joy, expression and discipline of ballet! Our Children’s Division is for dancers starting out their ballet journey, between the ages of 2 and 7 years old. As they learn about the foundations of dance, students exercise both their bodies and imaginations under the guidance of instructors who specialize in early childhood education.
We place students in this division based on their age, from Family and Me classes for our youngest dancers through Pre-Ballet 6.
“My favorite thing about my job is the opportunity to facilitate a child’s love for ballet. My young daughters are my inspiration for bringing creativity and fun into the studio, where I work to create magical experiences that turn ballet into a passion. I consider myself lucky to be able to watch my students grow and enjoy dancing.”- Kaila Lewis, Head of the Children’s Division

Sunday Workshop Series
A Children’s Division Sunday workshop consists of a shortened ballet class that is always geared to include a variety of ages. Storytime is incorporated because there is usually a book that relates to the theme of the workshop. A craft or a coloring page gives the students a moment to elaborate on the theme. The workshop culminates with the families coming in for the last few minutes to view the dance that students learned that day. The goal is for your young dancer to experience the joy of dancing along with the additional fun activities to enhance the learning encounter. All workshops are for dancers ages 3-7, dates listed below.

Class Sharing Opportunities
Family Observation: Families are invited to attend class for observation. This occurs two times throughout the school year.
In-Studio End-of-Year Celebration: Onstage performance opportunities begin in the Student Division, but our Children’s Division is celebrated with an in-studio end-of-year performance for families to attend.
Dance With Me Week: During the 2023-2024 school year, we had the pleasure of inviting our Children’s Division dancers to bring one parent or grownup to their regularly scheduled ballet class. We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity for one adult to be able to participate in class alongside their child again this year! *Dates for the 2024-2025 school-year TBD.
What happens after the Children’s Division?
After the Children’s Division, students move forward to our Student Division. In this division, dancers will continue to foster their love for ballet while strengthening their technique.
