Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s long-time Costumier, Janet Groom Campbell, was with PBT for almost 50 years. Her contributions to PBT are innumerable. She designed over 45 ballets including The Mighty Casey and George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, Symphony in C, Who Cares, Tarantella, Allegro Brillante and Sylvia pas de deux. She has overseen the costume construction for almost every production performed in those 50 years including 4 different versions of The Nutcracker, 2 of Swan Lake, The Great Gatsby, Giselle and many others. The Art of the Costume provides an up close look at the detail, movement and character behind each costume created by Janet Groom Campbell.
