Children’s Division Summer Programs
Expose your child to the joy, expression and discipline of ballet. As they explore the foundations of dance, students exercise both their bodies and imaginations under the guidance of instructors who specialize in early childhood education.

Summer 2022 Classes
Family and Me (Ages 2-3)
An introduction to the art of ballet in a nurturing environment. Children and parents begin to explore the world of dance through movement, music, and rhythm. Dads welcome!
PRE-BALLET (Ages 4-7)
Imagery, imagination, and self-expression are encouraged while developing a foundation for academic ballet technique.
BALLET FOUNDATIONS (Age 7)
For new and returning students. The fundamentals of ballet are introduced through barre and floor exercises, French terminology and other basic ballet concepts.
PRE-BALLET BOYS (Ages 4-7)
A lively class introducing movement and music. Proper alignment, coordination and athleticism are emphasized.
New students ages 7+ are required to complete the online placement form. Once the placement form is submitted, the School office will follow up to discuss placement.

Summer 2022 Registration
Parents/Guardians must submit a completed registration form and tuition payment prior to their first class.
- Returning students must register for the level in which they are currently enrolled or as directed by the School Office.
- New Students age 18 months to age 6 should register in the age-appropriate class, based on the age of the child as of 9/1/2021, for any additional questions please email PBTSchool@pittsburghballet.org.
ATTENDANCE: Consistent attendance is required. Parent/Guardian must notify the PBT School Office of absences in advance if students must miss a class by logging it on their Family Portal account.
TUITION: Full tuition for all programs is due upon registration.

Summer Workshops
Summer 2021 Workshops
Sunday Workshop Series
In these workshops, young dancers will develop ballet technique foundations through ballet class, then read ballet story books to inspire creative dancing and learn special choreography from the ballet version of the workshop!

Sunday, Aug. 7 – Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet
Time: 10-11:15 a.m. (Ages 4-7)
Tuition: $39 per session
Angelina Ballerina Workshop – Monday, Wednesday, Friday
This Workshop is inspired by the Angelina Ballerina series, by author, Katharine Holabird, and illustrator, Helen Craig. Each day will start with a short ballet class, dancers will then be read a book about the featured fairy and learn a corresponding fairy dance.
Aug. 1-5 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

FAQs
Is there a dress code for the summer programs?
Females: Any solid-color leotard (simple style), pink or flesh-tone tights and pink or flesh-tone ballet shoes
Males: Any solid-color T-shirt, black tights, white socks, and black or white ballet shoes
Is attendance required for all classes?
Students (and parents/guardians for Grown-Up & Me and Pre-Ballet 2) are required to participate in all scheduled classes for which the dancer is enrolled. All students must appear for all classes in a punctual manner. Students who cannot meet these very basic requirements will not be permitted to participate. The School office should be contacted any for extenuating circumstances.
