Student Division Summer Programs
Emphasis is on the enjoyment of dance while reinforcing the discipline of classical ballet training.
New students to our Student Division are required to take a placement class before enrolling.

Summer 2022 Program Offerings
BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE WEEKLY CLASSES
Weekly classes where dancers are challenged to strengthen their ballet technique
BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE WEEK-LONG WORKSHOPS
Curriculum may include ballet, pre-pointe, jazz, modern and conditioning.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED JUNIOR INTENSIVE
Dancers will converge for an immersive three-week training program led by PBT School faculty and guest instructors.
Summer Registration
Registration for Summer 2022
Parents/Guardians must submit a completed registration form and tuition payment prior to their first class.
- Returning students must register for the level in which they are currently enrolled or as directed by the School Office. All returning students will enroll via the Family Portal, the School Office will send an email with instructions once registration is open.
- New students must be assessed prior to enrolling. Complete the Level Placement form on this page, and a school representative will contact you to schedule a placement class.
ATTENDANCE: Consistent attendance is required. Parent/Guardian must notify the PBT School Office of absences in advance if students must miss a class via your Family Portal. If you have any additional questions please email pbtschool@pittsburghballet.org.
TUITION: Full tuition for all summer programs is due at the time of registration.
Summer Programs
BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE WEEKLY CLASSES
Weekly classes where dancers are challenged to strengthen their ballet technique.
June 21–July 21 (5 weeks)
Returning dancers should register for a class based on their 2021/2022 level.
PREPARATORY
1-2 class per week
Preparatory A Ballet | Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Tuition: $151
LEVEL 1
1-2 class per week
Level 1A Ballet | Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Level 1 Jazz** | Tuesdays from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
OR
Level 1B Ballet | Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Tuition: *$151; Jazz add-on $114
*If students wish to attend 2 classes per week, they are welcome to register for both Level 1A and Level 1B. Tuition will be charged for each class separately.
**All students registered for either class will have the option to register for Introduction to Jazz add-on on Tuesdays
LEVEL 2
2 days per week:
Level 2 Jazz | Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Ballet | Tuesdays from 6:30-7:45 p.m.
Ballet w/ Pre-Pointe | Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m.
Tuition: $382; Jazz add-on $139
Aug. 1–11
LEVELS 3 and 4
4 days per week: Monday-Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Curriculum to include: Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Jazz and Conditioning.
Session 1: Aug. 1-4

Session 2: Aug. 8-11
Tuition: $222; for both sessions $411
BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE WEEK-LONG WORKSHOPS

Aug. 8-12 | 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Preparatory, Level 1 and Level 2 | Ages 8-11

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED WORKSHOP
Junior Intensive
July 5-22 | 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. OR 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. | Ages 10-13
Dancers will converge for an immersive three-week training program led by PBT School faculty and guest instructors. Students can enhance their repertoire with 40+ hours of curriculum including ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, pilates, and yoga as well as conditioning, stretch, music for ballet, and exploring Port de Bra.
Tuition: $1140
FAQs
Is there a dress code for summer programs?
Females: Any solid colored leotard (simple style), pink or flesh-toned tights, and pink or flesh-toned ballet shoes. Additionally, Junior Intensive students must have jazz shoes.
Males: Any solid colored T-shirt, black tights (ankle length or convertible; no cut offs), white socks, and black or white ballet shoes. Additionally, Student Workshop and Jr. Intensive students must have jazz shoes.
Is attendance required for all classes?
Students are required to participate in all scheduled classes for which the dancer is enrolled. All students must appear for all classes in a punctual manner. Students who cannot meet these very basic requirements will not be permitted to participate. The School office should be contacted any for extenuating circumstances.
