PBT at Chautauqua

Returning to the Amphitheater stage following a stunning Chautauqua debut in 2017, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre once again joins forces with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. This program will feature selections from one of the most beloved ballets of all time, The Sleeping Beauty. P.I. Tchaikovsky’s lush musical score is celebrated in this concert, which is the second of three performances in the CSO’s inaugural “Russian Festival.” Excerpts of The Sleeping Beauty will include selected students from Chautauqua’s own School of Dance. PBT will also perform Rubies, the sharp, sultry second movement of George Balanchine’s Jewels, set to Igor Stravinksy’s Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra.
